Teacher Workshop - Cooperative Learning Techniques

A Bit of Old School with a Dash of New: Cooperative Learning Techniques

Two Sessions Oct. 4-5 (Friday 5-9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Cooperative Learning in the classroom is an important part of a teacher's best practices toolkit that sets up an environment conducive to collaboration and risk taking.  In the Cooperative Learning workshop you will practice some Commonly Used Techniques as well as look at new ways to add a twist.  Many simple structures will be presented from Cooperative Learning Theorists such as Kagan, Lundgren, Dunn and Dunn Slavin and Marzano.  Participants will experience using the structures, learn new ideas, refresh old ideas and maybe dig some out of the closet they have forgotten.  Many structures will be presented, you pick what you like and take it back to your classroom.
