Dr. Jamie Dehan has worked with the Stefani Doctor of Physical Therapy program since 2010.
As the director of clinical education, Dr. Dehan brings a wide range of clinical experience and understanding of the clinical community in and around USM. She stays current in the clinical field with experience in a variety of settings to include acute hospital, acute rehab, outpatient orthopedics, outpatient sport rehab, and long-term care.
Dr. Dehan is currently a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Sections on Education and Health Policy and Administration, and the Clinical Educators Special Interest Group. She currently serves the Kansas Physical Therapy Association on the Professional Competency Committee and Membership Committee.
Dr. Dehan began her academic career at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo., where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Master of Physical Therapy degrees. Dr. Dehan continued her commitment to lifelong learning by completing her transitional doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kansas in Kansas City, Kan. She has also served as a clinical instructor to many physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students throughout her clinical career, sharing her knowledge and passion in the field of physical therapy with her students.
Dr. Dehan is a licensed physical therapist in Missouri and Kansas and an APTA Credentialed CI.

Dr. Dehan’s research pursuits are in innovative teaching practices, bridging academic and clinical education, evaluating the influences of values based education, the correlation between strength and falls in elderly individuals, and concussion management and rehab.
