Job Summary:

Assists the Environmental Services staff by performing routine housekeeping and service work involving performance of varied duties in a university environment. Work areas include dormitories, offices, and gymnasium areas. Work performed must meet standards of quality and is reviewed for thoroughness, neatness, and general effectiveness.


Essential Functions:

  • Performs routine duties for general appearance and upkeep on a scheduled and part-time basis

  • Duties may include but are not limited to: vacuuming; mopping; sweeping; dusting walls, woodwork, furniture and ornaments throughout the university; emptying waste baskets and other receptacles; periodically washing windows; polishing and cleaning bathrooms and kitchen fixtures; cleaning elevators and stairwells; and keeping restrooms supplied with soap and paper supplies

  • Other job-related duties as assigned


Physical Requirements:

  • Will require extensive standing and walking, moderate lifting, stooping, squatting, and pushing a cart

  • Must be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals when used with personal protective equipment


Education, Experience, Skills Required:

  • High School diploma

  • Minimal experience and skills required
