Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the overall management of the on-line nursing programs. Visionary leader who collaborates closely with university departments, faculty, and administration, as well as on-line partners, to maintain current programming and create new courses and programs. Counsels and guides students. Assists the department chair in meeting standards for on-line education, and participates as member of the departmental nursing faculty committee. This position is based out of the Leavenworth, KS campus location.


Essential Functions:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of post-licensure nursing programs.

  • Works closely with Post-Licensure Program Coordinator and on-line partners.

  • Develop and maintain the relationship between the on-line nursing programs and the University.

  • Participate, and demonstrate leadership, in the implementation, and evaluation of the on-line curriculum and other nursing education program components.

  • Maintain current knowledge to ensure programs meet requirements of accrediting bodies

  • Prepare accreditation reports in conjunction with Chair, Nursing Department

  • Assist students toward successful program completion.

  • Recruit and mentor properly credentialed faculty, ensuring adequate faculty are available to meet program outcomes.

  • Participate in activities that promote the stature of the department.

  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships within the community, including fostering the nursing education program’s responsiveness to community/employer needs.

  • Affinity with the overall values and mission of the University of Saint Mary and Department of Nursing


Qualifications:

  • MSN required, PhD or DNP preferred.

  • Experience with on line education

  • Prefer full-time higher education experience.

  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice nursing in Kansas.

  • This is a Tenure Track position; entry rank commensurate with experience and degree.

  • Active involvement in the nursing profession with an understanding of key issues in nursing education.

  • Experience in Family Nurse Practitioner administration/education preferred.

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work well at all levels in a complex and diverse environment, fostering a spirit of collaboration with faculty, colleagues, staff, administrators, and students.

  • Ability to set, communicate, and complete established priorities.

  • Knowledge and experience with KSBN and CCNE accreditation preferred.

  • Record of successful leadership.

  • Experience with management of human and fiscal resources.

  • Understanding and experience with curriculum content, design, and assessment/evaluation.

  • Experience in strategic planning.


Compensation:
