Plans and directs the activities of the Women’s Volleyball program. Ensures the team follows the direction and mission of USM and the Athletic Department.


  • Oversees the conduct, discipline and positive character development of student-athletes by using the guidelines and principles of the USM Mission and the NAIA Champions of Character initiative

  • Counsels student-athletes in personal development and academic success

  • Teaches and promotes the USM Mission and Values of: Community, Respect, Justice, and Excellence

  • Responsible for recruiting student athletes with recommendation for athletic financial aid awards

  • Responsible for administering NAIA, KCAC and USM policies pertaining to recruitment and student-athlete eligibility

  • Responsible for Women’s Volleyball team schedule and coordinating team travel

  • Directs conditioning of student athletes to achieve maximum athletic performance

  • Assesses player skills and assigns team positions

  • Evaluates own and opposition team capabilities to determine game strategy

  • Assists in inventory management, distribution, and collection of equipment and uniforms

  • Supervises all practices and competitions

  • Hires, evaluates and supervises team managers and assistant coaches

  • Responsible for weekly and season nominations for player recognition, all-conference and scholar athlete awards

  • Assists in reporting all games, scores, and statistics to Sports Information

  • Works with the Athletic Department in all sport promotions, fundraising, and recruitment efforts

  • Assists with USM Athletic Department game and event management

  • Available for teaching duties up to 6 hours per academic year

  • Performs other job related duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree, required

  • Master’s Degree, preferred

  • 3-5 years related experience, highly preferred

  • Must have working, recruitment, or player knowledge of NCAA, NAIA, or KCAC rules and regulations, required
