General Description:

The University of Saint Mary (USM) is a Catholic liberal arts university with campuses in Leavenworth and Overland Park, Kansas. USM’s Master of Business Administration program invites qualified candidates to apply for adjunct teaching positions in information security at its Overland Park campus.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The ideal candidate would have practical experience in the management of the information security function. He/she would have the ability to teach in a close, collegial environment dedicated to the teaching-learning relationship. This position has responsibility for the information security course content and is the subject matter expert working with curriculum development personnel, providing input on content requirements to insure an appropriate student experience and assessment throughout the curriculum. The position will provide instruction in accordance with the philosophy of the University and within the scope of departmentally-defined courses, programs of study, and degrees. The ideal candidate will create a positive growth environment for student learning. He/she will cooperate and respond to faculty members, staff, and administrators regarding educational technology and support services that enhance the instructional process. He/she will adequately prepare for, personally conduct all assigned courses, provide students, faculty, and staff with frequent, regular feedback, and note progress toward course/program goals and objectives.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, C.I.S. or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • One or more of the following relevant professional certifications – CEH, GSEC, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CISA.

  • Professional experience in information security, including cybersecurity.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a practitioner of Information Security within a Fortune 500 or similar organization.

  • Prior teaching experience at the Masters’ level, including in-class and online formats.

  • Experience with course/curriculum development.
