JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing database maintenance and record research for the Development department. This position is part-time (approximately 13 1/2 hours a week) temporary, Monday - Friday, during regular business hours. Additional work hours may be needed due to special events. Position is for the Spring semester only and will end in May, 2013.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as the primary person to update alumni addresses, phone numbers, email, etc.

  • Enter gift donations in appropriate database and generate receipts as necessary.

  • Generate donor letters following established department standards.

  • Update “missing information” in the database and perform necessary “clean-up” for optimum data management.

  • Work with Registrar to locate “lost” alumni.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to obtain complete and accurate data information and input into system appropriately.

  • Ability to effectively run reports, queries and mailing lists.

  • Proficient computer skills and experience with MS Word, Excel. Previous fundraising database experience preferred.

  • Analytical skills necessary to identify appropriate data processes and provide recommendations for process and data improvement.

  • Prefer a student, admitted and accepted, to the University of Saint Mary in an approved program of study.
