Position Summary:

The University of Saint Mary, a Roman Catholic institution sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, has an opening for a Project Coordinator who will be responsible for implementing and managing a 3 year federally-funded grant project that was awarded by the Department of Justice Office of Violence Against Women.


Essential Functions:

  • Project Coordinator will assist in the creation of a Coordinated Community Response (CCR) team

  • Coordinate training for campus safety officers, hearing officers, faculty, staff and students

  • Improve USM’s response to SDDVS for Hispanic/Latino students, first-generation, low-income and LGBTQ students

  • Enhance mandatory SDDVS education for all incoming students

  • Conduct prevention and education programming

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the field of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s preferred

  • Understanding of SDDVS myths and facts, dynamics, victim rights, and laws

  • Knowledge of basic principles of effective prevention efforts in a university setting

  • Experience overcoming barriers or working with individuals similar to those of the target population and managing a project and project budget

  • Strong written and oral communication stills

  • Ability and willingness to work irregular and flexible hours

  • Occasional travel and out-of-state training institutes

  • Previous Department of Justice Grant experience preferred.
