Fall Recital Showcases USM Faculty Music Talent

7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, Mead Hall Walnut Room

(Leavenworth, Kan.)—Freda Peterson Proctor, assistant professor of music at the University of Saint Mary, will present a piano and flute faculty recital at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, in the Mead Hall Walnut Room on the Saint Mary Leavenworth Campus, 4100 South 4th Street.

The recital is free and open to the public.

Flute selections will include Telemann’s Fantasia for Solo Flute, Bach’s Sonata for Flute and Basso Continuo in E, and the Concerto in G for Two Flutes by Cimarosa.

Proctor will be accompanied at the piano by Dr. William Krusemark, chair of the university’s department of fine arts, and will be assisted by her husband, Rev. Wallace Proctor, on double bass. Christina Almonte Krayer, a professional flutist and recent Leavenworth transplant, will join Proctor in the performance of the Concerto in G for Two Flutes.

The solo piano portion of the recital will feature performances of Handel’s variations on The Harmonious Blacksmith, Mozart’s Sonata in A, and Liszt’s Mephisto Waltz No. 1 (The Dance in the Village Inn).

A reception will immediately follow the performance in the Saint Mary Social Room.
