* Effective May 2, 2012, the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Saint Mary has been granted Candidate for Accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association (1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA, 22314; phone: 703-706-3245; email: firstname.lastname@example.org). Candidacy is not an accreditation status nor does it assure eventual accreditation. Candidate for Accreditation is a pre-accreditation status of affiliation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education that indicates the program is progressing toward accreditation.
(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The University of Saint Mary will show prospective health care professionals how to get their careers off to a healthy start at USM’s Health Care Career Expo, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, in Berchmans Hall on the USM Main Campus in Leavenworth, 4100 South 4th Street.
USM specializes in health care education and helping students find a career with purpose. The university’s health care specialty is geared toward meeting the needs of society—specifically, the ever-growing need for highly trained health care professionals—as well as the needs of students looking for meaningful and in-demand careers.
Saint Mary offers multiple new and cutting-edge offerings available to prospective students including the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)* program, the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing track, and the high-demand Health Information Management major. USM also offers its well-regarded traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing, online Master of Science in Nursing and RN-to-BSN degrees, a Healthcare Informatics program, and traditional undergraduate pre-professional health paths.
Attendees at the expo will be able to speak directly with USM’s expert health sciences faculty about their potential career paths, tour Saint Mary health care education facilities, and watch equipment and lab demonstrations.
“The University of Saint Mary is nationally recognized for meeting high standards of academic excellence,” said Dr. Bryan Le Beau, USM’s vice president of academic affairs.
“For the past several years, we have committed those high standards to educating the health care professionals of tomorrow, where there is a growing need. Our founders, the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth, have rich traditions of health care education and of meeting society’s needs. Saint Mary is continuing these traditions and offering students a chance at rewarding careers.”
