USM Concert Chorale to Perform Gershwin and Porter Classics

(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The University of Saint Mary Concert Chorale will present a concert of the toe-tapping hits of George Gershwin and Cole Porter at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in Saint Joseph Dining Hall on the university’s Leavenworth Campus, 4100 South 4th Street.
The concert, We’ve Got Rhythm so Anything Goes, is free and open to the public
The program features multiple classics from the 1920s and ‘30s, including Gershwin’s hit songs from the Broadway revival of Crazy for You as well as Porter’s winsome ballads and upbeat showstoppers from his 1933 musicalAnything Goes.
The concert will honor graduating seniors Alyssa Dunning, of Parkville, Mo., Emily Nold, of Overland Park, Kan., and Starian Porchia, of Bonner Springs, Kan.
The USM Concert Chorale is under the direction of Dr. William Krusemark, professor of music and chair of the department of fine arts. Accompanist for the evening will be Assistant Professor and USM Resident Keyboard Artist Freda Proctor.
