USM Music Faculty Showcase Talents at 2012 Fall Recital

7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, Mead Hall Walnut Room

(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The faculty of the University of Saint Mary department of fine arts-music will present their annual Fall Faculty Recital at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, in the Mead Hall Walnut Room on the Saint Mary Leavenworth Campus, 4100 South 4th Street. The recital is free and open to the public.

Faculty performers include Freda Proctor, USM assistant professor of music and director of instrumental music studies, and Dr. William  Krusemark, chair of the Saint Mary department of fine arts. Both faculty members are enjoying major career milestones this year, with Dr. Krusemark celebrating his 35th year as a Saint Mary faculty member, and Proctor celebrating her 25th year.

As part of the program, Proctor will perform piano compositions by Haydn and Chopin as well as works for solo flute by C.P.E. Bach and Debussy. Dr. Krusemark will perform works transcribed for baritone horn by Bach, Fitzgerald, and Clark.

A reception will immediately follow the performance in the Saint Mary Social Room.
