6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 | Overland Park Campus – 11413 Pflumm Road

(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The University of Saint Mary will help attendees broaden their career prospects at a special USM Career Workshop at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the university’s Overland Park Campus located at 11413 Pflumm Road, next door to St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Attendees will have the opportunity to get their resume reviewed by USM’s career services experts, learn tips about expanding their career horizons through online professional networks like LinkedIn, and can have a free professional head shot taken for their online profiles.

They will also learn about how they can earn a degree of difference with USM’s accelerated evening graduate and undergraduate degree-completion programs from the Saint Mary staff and faculty members who will work with students individually to help them achieve their goals.

“In this challenging job market, success is all about standing out from the crowd,” said Kisha Stevenson, assistant director of admissions. “Many working adults are seeking higher degrees to help make themselves more marketable—and that’s where we can help.

“The networking skills you’ll gain at this event can also provide an important path to success.”

At the Overland Park Campus, USM offers six graduate programs—including master’s offerings in education and psychology, as well as Kansas City’s most flexible MBA, which is available in multiple formats, including face-to-face evening classes, online classes, or a convenient combination of both. The MBA is offered in multiple concentrations, including risk management, human resource management, general management, marketing & advertising management, and finance.

USM also offers undergraduate degree-completion programs in Overland Park, and three fully online programs: Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Arts in Teaching, and RN-to-Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree-completion.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to speak with advisors about financial aid and payment plan options—an increasingly important factor in selecting a degree program. Some form of financial aid is available to the majority of students, and USM helps guide students to a variety of funding sources.

Accelerated classes for busy working professionals meet one night a week over eight-week sessions. Evening classes are offered at USM’s class sites in Overland Park and Leavenworth.
