(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The University of Saint Mary will host the annual Senior Art Student Exhibition, “Not Just Beautiful, but Alive and Breathing,” from April 7-21 in the Goppert Gallery in Xavier Hall on the USM Main Campus in Leavenworth, 4100 South 4th Street. The exhibition is free and open to the public on weekdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., with a special opening reception from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, April 7.

“Not Just Beautiful, but Alive and Breathing” features charcoal and ink drawings from USM senior art and English major Arcilia Gonzalez of Fort Worth, Texas. Her works are a reflection of her love for nature—capturing the beauty of the rolling hills and serene landscapes around the Kansas City area.

This isn’t Gonzalez’s first exhibition in the USM’s Goppert Gallery, she’s participated in several on campus as well as in the 2016 Final Friday at Ten Thousand Villages in Lawrence, Kan. in August 2016. Gonzalez also has a solo exhibition scheduled in the gallery at the Kansas City Public Library-South Branch this winter.
