Although Alumni Reunion Weekend started off soggy, the rain didn’t wash out the excitement alums felt as they came home to Saint Mary June 6-8. “We’re so blessed to have so many Saint Marians coming home this year. Reunion rekindles old friendships and reminds us all of the wonderful starts Saint Mary gave to each of us,” said USM President Sister Diane Steele, C’83.
Smiles and laughter started at breakfast and continued through the night—remembering dorm life, traditions on campus, and the impact of Saint Mary friends and faculty. Three graduates were awarded for carrying the spirit of the university mission and freely giving their time and talent to the community, their profession, or USM.
• Sister Mary Mark Orr Pioneer Spirit Award: Kathleen Martin Cinfo, C’74
• Saint Vincent De Paul Award (contribution to the well being of society):
Mary Morin, C’64
• Sister Mary Janet McGilley Service Award (service to USM): Sister Mary Vincentia
To honor Sr. Mary Vincentia for her dedication, the class of 1964 raised over $10,000 to start an endowed scholarship in her name.
