On April 22, 2014, Saint Mary hosted a reception honoring Sister Susan Rieke, C’66, for her 50 years of religious life.
Sr. Rieke joined the Sisters of Charity in 1964, after her sophomore year at Saint Mary.
The reception began with a welcome from Dr. Bryan LeBeau, provost and vice president for academic affairs, and opening remarks by Dr. Joy Raser, language and literature department chair.
Sister Rosie Kolich and Sister Roberta O’Leary entertained attendees by reciting an original poem. Alums Jason Nichols, C’96, Sally Selzer Sallee, C’99, and Jane Ellen Liebert, C’97, also spoke.
USM President Sister Diane Steele, C’83, who enjoys giving Sr. Susan a hard time for “giving” her one of her two B’s at Saint Mary, provided closing remarks.
