Ways to Give

» The annual fund supports student financial aid, general programs, faculty and staff salaries, building and grounds maintenance, and other expenses.

» Endowed funds are invested with a portion of the earnings used annually in support of the university. An increased endowment gives greater financial stability to Saint Mary.

» Endowed named scholarships provide donors with an opportunity to establish a scholarship in a loved one's name. These are endowed with gifts of $10,000 or more, with the money placed in the endowment and the earnings used to fund an annual scholarship for a specific student.

» Memorials are opportunities to give a gift in memory of, or as a tribute to a loved one.

» The Saint Mary Legacy Society  asks alumni and other friends to consider including a deferred gift to USM in their estate plan. This often involves including a bequest to USM in a will or trust. Learn more »

» A Capital Campaign is designed to significantly upgrade facilities and programs, including major renovations and new buildings.

Charitable gifts sustain the Saint Mary tradition of excellence

In order to continue our tradition of excellence, the University of Saint Mary depends on the generous support of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and other friends. Whether it is providing scholarships to deserving students, building and renovating campus facilities, or funding outstanding academic programs, your gifts to the university are vital to our continued success.

Our Students

For many students, a college education simply would not be possible without financial aid. Throughout its history, the University of Saint Mary has had an unwavering commitment to serving capable students with financial needs. Today, the university provides more than $5 million per year in student scholarships. Many of those students are the first generation in their families to go to college.

Our Campus

The university is currently renovating its historic Berchmans Hall to house the first ever Saint Mary doctorate--the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Berchmans will become the hub of USM's burgeoning health care offerings.

To meet the growing demand for modern, on-campus housing, USM built a new residence hall that will provide apartment-style accommodations for 100 students. The $4.8 million dorm opened at the start of the fall 2009 semester.

Our Programs

In response to the nation’s critical health care staffing shortages, USM is expanding its health care programs. Specific areas of need include nursing, physical therapy, and health information management.
