Dr. Nancy King, professor of psychology, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Central Missouri State University, and her Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in psychology of sport from the University of Kansas. She is a former K-12 physical education teacher and coach.
King originally joined the staff at Saint Mary in 1991, as a counselor and drug education coordinator for the Student Life Department before transitioning to USM’s psychology faculty three years later as full-time professor. She has coached USM basketball, softball, and volleyball, and was elected into the USM’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. In 1996, King was awarded the university’s top teaching, the coveted Sullivan Award for Teaching Excellence.
