Get on the path to become a physician at USM
As a biomedical sciences major at the University of Saint Mary, you’re focusing your career goals on one of the fastest growing fields in the world: becoming a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
The USM biomedical sciences degree offers a unique path to achieving your dream, thanks to a strategic partnership with the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences (KCUMB). Here’s how the program works:
-
Undergrads study as freshmen at USM, and are admitted into the partnership program with KCUMB as sophomores
-
You’ll study under the 3+4 plan. As a junior you’ll enter KCUMB, where you’ll complete a four-year course of study.
-
When you complete your first year at KCUMB, you’ll be awarded your bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from USM
-
When you finish at KCUMB after four years, you’ll be a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
What’s more, acceptance into the partner program means you’re guaranteed admission to KCUMB without ever having to take the MCAT.
