The art of communication: Discover the USM difference

Public relations. Advertising. Journalism. These are all popular communications-based careers – and you can learn to enhance your marketability to land a position in these fields with a communications concentration from the University of Saint Mary.

The communications concentration is added to a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree, typically in English, art, or business administration. The goal: to make you a marketable communications commodity. In fact, you can tailor your concentration to your interests, including mass media, print journalism, advertising and more.

To enhance your “real-world” skills, internships are available in the area from a variety of Kansas City-based companies, including:

  • Andrews-McMeel Universal Press Syndicate

  • The Power and Light District

  • The Kansas City Star

  • The Leavenworth Times
