Steve Herndon, instructor of mathematics, joined the faculty of the University of Saint Mary in 2012.

He earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics and secondary education as well as his master's degree in statistics from Stephen F. Austin State University.

Prior to his current teaching assignment, Herndon taught at Baker University, Henderson Junior High School, and Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas.

Herndon teaches a variety of courses including algebra, quantitative reasoning, and statistics.

Non-teaching experience includes numerous positions while working for the U.S. Army, including software engineer of combat models, program manager of computer wargames for the Pentagon, and director of technical support for the TRADOC Analysis Center (TRAC).

Herndon's research interest is in the field of Statistics and Demographic Analysis as it relates to business planning and development, urban planning, and adult education.
