The University of Saint Mary's graduate and professional programs are competitively priced and a great value. Our financial aid packages are designed to help you easily manage education expenses. Financial aid packages are based on the university's analysis of student need as determined by processing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

*William D. Ford Direct Stafford Loans
 

  • Apply for Stafford Loan Program by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov (USM’s federal school code is 001943)

  • U.S. Dept of Education is the lender.

  • Must be enrolled at least half time (6 credit hours in Fall or Spring; 3 credit hours in Summer)

  • $20,500 is the max a graduate/professional student can borrow during a school year.

  • $8,500 of the $20,500 could be subsidized for students who demonstrate financial need

**Direct PLUS Loan

  • In addition to the Direct Stafford Loan program, graduate/professional students can apply for the Direct PLUS program online at www.studentloans.gov

  • Must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online at www.FAFSA.ed.gov

  • Must not have adverse credit history.

  • Must be enrolled at least half time (6 credit hours in Fall or Spring; 3 credit hours in Summer)

***Alternative/Private Loan Programs


For information about institutions that offer educational loans, please visit USM’s financial aid website.
 

  • Go to www.stmary.edu

  • Click “Admissions”.

  • On the right side of the screen, click “Financial Aid”

  • Click the link “Alternative (Private) Lender List”.


These loans generally have a higher interest rates and, although repayment of principal may be deferred, interest payments could begin immediately. Approval is based on credit history.

Once you’ve completed the applications to apply for any of the above loan programs, we'll send you information about your application results. All financial aid granted by University of Saint Mary will be adjusted in amount, if need be, so as to not exceed maximum limits specified by federal and state regulations.

Effective May 2, 2012, the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at the University of Saint Mary has been granted Candidate for Accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association (1111 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA, 22314; phone: 703-706-3245; email: accreditation@apta.org). Candidacy is not an accreditation status nor does it assure eventual accreditation. Candidate for Accreditation is a pre-accreditation status of affiliation with the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education that indicates the program is progressing toward accreditation.
 
USM DPT Program Student Outcomes 
(As of 6/2014)
 
1.      Graduation Rate: The program earned Candidacy in May of 2012.  We will not be able to post a graduation rate until May of 2015, when we anticipate graduating our first class of students.
 
2.      Licensure Examination Pass Rate:  The program earned Candidacy in May of 2012. We will not be able to post a licensure examination pass rate until 2015, when we anticipate receiving that information from the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.
 
3.      Employment Rate:  The program earned Candidacy in May of 2012. We will not be able to post an employment rate until late in 2015, approximately 6 months after graduation.
