Dr. Jill Hebert has been an assistant professor of English at Saint Mary since 2009.
Students recognize Dr. Hebert’s passion for education. In fact, she says, students appreciate her drive to follow Horace’s edict to “delight and instruct.”
Strong communications skills with real-world benefits in every field are emphasized in all of Dr. Hebert’s courses, including critical thinking, reading retention, clear and concise writing, and detailed analysis.
Her passion lies within her deep devotion to helping students realize the enjoyment and relevance of challenging authors such as Chaucer and Shakespeare.
As a dedicated professor, Dr. Hebert continues to conduct contemporary research with an eye toward its application in the classroom.
She earned her Ph.D. from Western Michigan University, her Master of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University.
