Dr. William Krusemark
Chair, Department of Fine Arts
Dr. William Krusemark is Chair of the Department of Fine Arts and Professor of Music at the University of Saint Mary. He has served as Director of Vocal Music Studies at USM since 1978. Dr. Krusemark received the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from the University of Kansas and the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Voice from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He completed additional studies in diction, art-song, voice and opera at the Berkshire Music School at Tanglewood, Mass., and the American Institute of Musical Studies at Graz, Austria.
Dr. Krusemark has sung throughout the United States and Europe, including more than 20 featured and supporting roles as a 16-year roster artist with Lyric Opera of Kansas City. He served as Baritone Artist-In-Residence for the Bay View, Michigan Music Festival for seven seasons and made several appearances as guest soloist for the Lindsborg, Kan., Messiah Festival. In New York he was a regular soloist with the Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys and the National Chorale at Lincoln Center and on National Tour. Other credits include the Aspen Festival, Central City Opera, Flensburg, Germany Opera, and the Kansas City, Mo., Springfield, Mo., St. Joseph, Mo., Topeka, Kan., and Lake Charles, La., Symphonies. In addition to his academic duties at USM he serves as Choirmaster at Bethany Lutheran Church of Overland Park, Kan.
