The USM Advantages
At USM, we know nursing. It was one of the original missions of our founders, the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth. And, decades later, Saint Mary is still recognized for the high quality of our nursing program.
USM's accelerated BSN track is also one of the most affordable Accelerated BSN offerings in the Kansas City area. With our Leavenworth campus just 30 minutes from Kansas City and its close proximity to so many hospital clinical sites, USM is an ideal location for for students interested in earning their BSN at an accelerated pace.
About the Accelerated Format
The curriculum requirements for students in USM's accelerated BSN track are the same as those in the traditional undergraduate BSN program—but the content is delivered in an accelerated one-year format. You'll take classes on campus, and your clinical experiences will be at surrounding health care facilities.
In the accelerated nursing path, you'll take 58 credit hours of courses and 772.5 hours of clinical/laboratory experiences—all in just 12 months.
Courses are taught in terms that last either seven or eight weeks. Students begin during USM's Summer II term, and will graduate after completing the Summer I term the following year.
