As a USM biology student, you will learn all the fundamentals in small classes taught by experienced experts in the field. In fact, USM's small class sizes are ideal for biology majors willing to explore and experiment at their will. Hands-on learning stresses experiencing cutting edge methods of analysis and synthesis that will give you the ability to perform in a science career field. In the classroom, you'll be led by experienced, knowledgeable faculty, not graduate assistants, who have years of actual in-the-field experience on their side. You'll get a chance to apply what you've learned in USM's many science labs.
Plus, biology majors at USM are virtual shoe-ins for major nationally accredited medical schools nationwide. In fact, as of 2005, more than 90 percent of USM biology graduates gained acceptance to medical or graduate schools. USM graduates are currently employed as doctors, dentists, veterinarians, biological researchers, consultants and teachers nationwide.
