EMERGING
LITERACY IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (3
hours) |
|

on the assumption that literacy beings
long before a child's exposure to
formal instruction, this course offers

while enhancing the student's understanding
of emergent literacy. It explores
the development and assessment of
language and writing, the role in
designing learning activities and
providing a literacy-rich environment. This
course is based upon three themes:
a constructivist perspective on learning,
respect for diversity and instruction-based
assessment.
