In today’s ever changing world, society has gone global. Global Studies students analyze global relations in order to gain a complete understanding of the world, and to help make it a better place for tomorrow. As a Global Studies major at USM, you’ll develop the skills necessary to enter the workforce in a variety of fields, or make the jump to any number of professional graduate degree programs nationwide. Students explore contemporary world events, how immigration affects the global economy, ethical issues that shape the global landscape and much, much more.
USM’s Global Studies program combines a unique blend of history, politics, economics and foreign language all in one. You’ll learn to integrate your study of global issues with real world experiences though various clubs, organizations and internships. USM Global Studies majors often combine Global Studies with Political Science or History to maximize career marketability.
