The major
in interdisciplinary studies is designed
for students whose career goals and personal
interests are served by a course of study,
including study in the professional area, that
is more flexible than that provided by
the traditional major.
This degree can add strength and depth of knowledge in both the professional
and liberal studies areas. |
| The interdisciplinary studies degree is also available through USM's undergraduate degree completion program. |
The
interdisciplinary studies program provides
the student with the opportunity
- to concentrate
study in two or three different disciplines
that provide breadth and strength
to educational experiences in the
liberal arts tradition
- to give
coherence to previous and on-going
education
- to strengthen
opportunities for career advancement
- to enjoy
personal academic achievement and
- to reflect
on education and life experiences
through a variety of integrating
experiences.
