Discover Your Music Potential at the University of Saint Mary
USM's music program is designed to provide opportunities to develop musicianship, cultivate understanding and appreciation for the art of music, and prepare for musical leadership, teaching and performance. At Saint Mary, music students have two paths to choose from: instrumental music and vocal performance.
 |
Participants in the music program also have the option of majoring in liberal studies or interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in music. They may also pursue a performance-focused music minor in voice, piano or another instrument.
The music program offers performance scholarships, multiple opportunities to perform, and the chance to take private lessons from professional musicians/educators who have a collective 51 years of teaching experience at USM.
Students choose USM because of the individual attention and mentoring they receive from the highly-qualified music faculty. Other positives of USM's music program include:
- Performance scholarships
- Full access to professors for private, on-campus lessons
- A wealth of performance options, including University Community Band with its numerous annual concerts and the Concert Chorale with its Christmas Vespers, Oratorio Masterworks, and other events
- Instrumental ensembles
