Politics come into play with virtually every thing we do-at home, in the classroom or on the job. Political Science is the study of power and justice, or who gets what and why. In our world of constant change and uncertainty an understanding of the political world, and the ideas that shape that world, is essential. USM's Political Science department will provide you with a better understanding of political forces, an understanding that may lead to a career in the public or private sector. USM students often combine Political Science with History or Global Studies to maximize career marketability.
First and foremost, as a Political Science major at USM, you'll develop immediately applicable talents and skills necessary to survive in "the real world." USM's Political Science degree is well respected, enabling most graduates to compete and earn admission to graduate programs nationwide.
