  Pastoral Ministry Required Courses
  The Pastoral Ministry program focuses on the formation of laity for full time work in the Church. Taught out of the Catholic heritage, it is open to students from other Christian traditions.
Three-pronged approach:
  • Strong foundation in theological studies and critical thinking
  • Skill and experience in ministry threaded throughout the program
  • Spiritual growth and guidance for integration of work and prayer
The program prepares ministers who are able to speak about their religion to others and also to witness God’s loving presence by the lives they lead.

 32-36 hours of theology and pastoral ministry, including:

An applied Christian ethics course: TH 230,

Elective courses may be suggested in psychology, management, and church music as these apply to the student’s needs and interest. 
In addition to the required courses, students in the pastoral ministry program will be expected to participate in the following activities directed toward spiritual, personal, and communal formation for ministry.
  • Spiritual life review with a mentor
  • Personal prayer pattern development
  • Liturgy and faith-sharing
  • Ministry activities
  • An annual retreat
  • Development and evaluation based on personal goals
