The Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal
Studies provides students with the opportunity
to experience concentrated study in a
single discipline and, at the same time,
broaden their understanding and appreciation
of those disciplines which contribute
to a well-rounded liberal education.
Working with their advisers, students
plan a program of studies which includes
an area of concentration as well as general
education requirements. Credits earned
in the Associate of Arts degree are applicable
toward the Bachelors degrees at
University of Saint Mary.
Degree Requirements for the

- 64 semester hours
- A minimum grade point average of
2.00
- At least 15 semester hours from
University of Saint Mary
- 12 of the last 15 hours in residency
- Completion of an approved area
of concentration
- Completion of general education
requirements for the Associate Degree
described below
- Settlement of all accounts with
the College

course (3 hours)
____ a philosophy course (3 hours)

____ a fine arts course (3 hours)
____ Freshman Core I & II (6 hours); transfer students
and non-traditional freshmen should consult with the Registrars Office
for required alternatives
____ two courses in the social/behavioral sciences (6 hours)
____ a course in mathematics (3-4 hours)
____ a course in natural science (3-4 hours)
____ two physical education activity courses (2 hours)
