Full time Nursing Faculty Positions
in the on-campus Pre-licensure Program
for Fall 2009

General Description: The University of St. Mary Department of Nursing invites qualified candidates to join an energetic and creative faculty in the on-campus pre-licensure program.  The program is approved by the Kansas Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education*.

Successful candidates will show evidence of knowledge and expertise in pediatric, obstetrical, community health, or medical-surgical nursing. A potential to teach a broad range of undergraduate nursing courses is expected. Full-time faculty will be expected to teach in both classroom and clinical settings.  Previous teaching experience is desired. Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse student population and the ability to work cooperatively with departmental and university faculty.

Qualifications: Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Kansas and Missouri or the ability to obtain such licensure prior to finalization of contract.   A Master's degree in nursing is required.

Preferred Qualification:  Progressive experience in teaching in a university pre-licensure nursing program.  Doctorate preferred in Nursing or a related discipline.

Contract: Ten month faculty appointments with tenure track is available for full-time faculty. Positions will begin August 1, 2009. 

Salary and Rank: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
