Berkel Hall, the new suite-style residence hall at the University of Saint
Mary was built to accommodate the
growing number of students on campus.

Housing sophomores, juniors, and seniors, the $4.7 million Berkel Hall is the first
residence Hall to be built on the main campus since
Maria Hall opened in 1964. Its state-of-the-art design features units with a suite-style floorplan.

Most of the units have
• 4 private bedrooms that share a common area
• 2 bathrooms shared by 2 people
• 2 vanities with double sinks
• individually controlled heating and air conditioning
• cable and high speed internet access in each bedroom
• modular furniture that can be reconfigured
• laundry area on each floor
• access to a common lounge
Berkel rooms feature XL Twin beds.

During the first ever move-in day at Berkel, USM students like Frankie Walburn and Terrell Harper said they were impressed with the new building and looking forward to taking advantage of the residence hall's amenities.
"I like the newer look of the dorm," Walburn said, adding that he put down a deposit on a room as soon as he could. "It has a great new atmosphere."
