About the Battalion

USM's ROTC program falls under the auspices of the Jayhawk Battalion, headquartered at the University of Kansas. The Jayhawk Battalion incorporates the ROTC efforts of several area Kansas schools.

The Jayhawk Battalion dates back to 1918, being established at KU in the wake of World War I. Over 2,000 of its members have successfully received their commissions as second lieutenants. Learn more about the Jayhawk Battalion's history.

Captain Trent Miller, a USM graduate, is the Saint Mary liaison to the Jayhawk Battalion. He's part of the battalion's command staff and also teaches Military Sciences. Read more about the battalion's leadership.
