USM Cheerleading and Dance

“In any other sport, if you miss the catch, all you drop is the ball.” Author Unknown

At the beginning of the summer, we established many goals as a team—including winning the NAIA Competition in March. However, even more than that we acknowledged our main goal was to foster close friendships between one another and create a squad that we recognized as a family.

Today, that is what is at the heart of the USM Spirit Squad- strong bonds of unconditional friendships based on common goals and experiences. And I have never felt more proud to be part of such a great thing.

This summer we attended an NCA (National Cheerleading Association) camp in Maryville, Mo. We received first place in our division (small co-ed), a bid to Nationals, and a blue superior ribbon in each category of skill. Since camp we have improved by leaps and bounds. We are throwing baskets, building pyramids, sticking stunts and rebounding out of back handsprings. I can only imagine where we will be at this time next year.

The dance team is a new program at University of Saint Mary and we hope to inspire. We are counting our steps each day to become a well-rounded group that can perform pom, contemporary, hip-hop and all that jazz. As a new program we are having open auditions and would love to expand our talent, so if you are interested please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.

Thank you,
Andi *\o/*
