Ok so this is my last entry for the end of the semester but I'll update once in a while during the summer. I finished all my finals and now I'm just going to wait and see what my grades are for the semester. I think I did well but I'm not sure yet. I've already registered for classes for next year and I'm going to be taking 17 credits. I hope I can hande all the work but right now I'm pretty optimistic about it. I'm not going to worry about the next year too much, I just want to enjoy my summer. I'll be working but I want to swim, shop, travel, and see my friends. I know the summer will be fun because it always is. Well I guess thats all I have for now. Adios!

Since the last time I updated I went to the May 1 peace rally for immigration at Liberty Memorial in Kansas City Missouri. There were so many people there with flags and the speakers were really great. Everything went just as it was supposed to, it was peaceful and there were no fights or anything like that. It was on the news and there were about three helicopters there. I took some good pictures one of my favorites was a picture I took of the crowd of people with an American flag waving above them. There were rallies all over the country and basically the rally I went to was to bring the message of undocumented workers to those who don’t yet understand. I would go into more detail but I might get carried away. I also went to some of the 5 de Mayo fiestas and they were fun too but the weather could have been better.

Anyways back to school stuff. The semester has gone by fast as I have mentioned before and now all I have to worry about are finals. I just took my first two and I’m glad I’m done with those. They were pretty hard and they took me almost the whole time to do because I had to write essays. Now all have to do is go to my English final and take my math final. I don’t think the math one will be hard but I could be wrong. After that final I’m done with things like papers and homework until next year anyway. It’s weird that instead of getting up to go to school everyday I’m going to be getting up to work but it had to happen eventually. Adios y hasta luego!

Hey guys! I can’t even believe that I only have one more week of classes left, finals after that and then I’m finished with my first year of college. People would always tell me that it goes by fast and I wouldn’t believe it because some of the days and classes feel like they drag on forever. Now I know they were right because I’m finished in about two weeks. This summer is going to be different for me because thanks to my English teacher, Sr. Rosemary, this time I’ll actually have a job. Part of the reason I like this school is because of people like Sr. Rosemary who help you out without you ever asking for it. I didn’t ask her to help me find a summer job she just talked to me about it because she thought it was something I could do. Thanks Sr. Rosemary! Even though I’ll be working there are still possibilities to go on vacation but I guess we’ll just have to see about that. I guess I should maybe start studying for finals but I have some projects and papers to get done before that. It always feels like teachers pile on the work right towards the end of the semester but that’s just how it goes. I can get stressed out during finals time but as soon as finals are over I won’t have to worry about homework until next year. I guess I’m done for now I need to get ready to go do some therapeutic and stress free shopping with my friend Colette. Adios!

Hola! School has been crazy lately with all the classes, homework, scholarship forms, and errands. I have been able to have some fun this week. I went shopping at the plaza in Kansas City, Missouri with my friend Colette where I finally used the gift card I got almost a year ago for my high school graduation. The weather was beautiful all day and afterwards we went to eat with our friend from high school Michelle. Actually the three us of have known each other since kindergarten and I’ve known Michelle since preschool. I love how we’re still friends and that we still do stuff together.

I have fewer hours to work at the library now so I have more time to myself which is pretty great. Next week is going to be an easy week since it’s almost Easter and we have Holy Thursday and Good Friday off. The countdown until the end of the school year has pretty much begun and I have no idea what I’m going to do for the summer. I should probably be worrying about more important things like my finals but it’s easier to just think about summer. I’m thinking about getting a job but I really want to go to California or just somewhere with a beach! With a job I would be making money that I need but if I go to California it will be way more fun. I could visit my family, lay out on the beach, and go to Disneyland and Six Flags. My friend Samantha and I were talking about going on a road trip with two other friends to California and that would be really fun but we’ll see about that. What I’m going to do this summer is still unknown but whatever it is I want to have fun and enjoy it. That’s all for now time it’s time for me to me to get to work. Hasta luego!!

Hey guys! I’m back at school after spring break. It was so hard to get out of bed this morning but somehow I managed to do it even though of course I was running late for math class. My break was pretty average I didn’t go anywhere outside Kansas City but I’ll just call it relaxing. I got to go shopping with my friend Colette who was also on her spring break so that was fun because it’s what we both do best. We really shouldn’t go shopping together because we always end up spending more than we intended to spend. I didn’t get to see any of my other high school friends because they weren’t on break yet. My break was earlier than usual but I’m not going to complain I’ll take a day off whenever you give it to me.

This week has gone by faster than I thought it would and tomorrow is already St. Patrick’s Day. Yesterday a group of students went and volunteered at a school in Kansas City Missouri. We moved some boxes and tables from the second floor to the gym floor. Some of the boxes were pretty heavy but Kate and I had our own system that helped us so it wasn’t too bad. My arms are sore today but it’s not a big deal. Afterwards we all went to Professor Randy Scott’s house to eat some pizza. He has the coolest tv out of anybody I know.

I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. I’m already almost finished with my first year in college. There is less than two months of school left and I’m excited for summer but there’s so much that I need to finish before the year ends. I have papers to write, scholarships to fill out and mail, and my FAFSA to fill out again. Things can get really crazy and at the end of the semester but they keep me busy. Adios for now and Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone even though it’s a little early!

This past week was really busy for me and I’m really glad that it’s over. I had two tests and a presentation all in one day. I hope I did well on my Learning Community test because it was open note and it’s pretty hard to mess something like that up. I took my cousins to see the play on Saturday and we all thought it was really good. After that we went out to eat at Chili’s which was entertaining. The play we saw was called “Honestly” and it was all written by students here. I thought it was very funny and very true. It was about lying and there were different scenarios where people would lie knowingly or unknowingly to themselves or others. It was interesting because it was relatable to pretty much anybody and everybody. Yesterday I went to the mall with my cousins and I watched them get their family portrait taken. It was really funny watching them and making them laugh for the picture. Overall I had a pretty relaxing weekend because I didn’t have any major homework to do.

This week so far has been easier than last week although I still have plenty of homework to do. I just have to get through this week and next week is our spring break. I’ll finally be able to sleep in and not worry about making it to class on time because lately I’ve been running late just about every morning.

The weather is really nice today and I want to go outside but I can’t. I hope this week goes by fast but it probably won’t since I’m looking forward to spring break. We’ll see how it goes.

My name is Christina Garcia, I am a freshman at USM, and today is a pretty normal Tuesday for me. I went to my English class already and now I’m at work in the library. I really like my English class but I wish it wasn’t at 8 in the morning. This wouldn’t be a problem for me except for the fact that I don’t live on campus, I live in Kansas City and it takes me 30 minutes to get to school. I always have to make sure I allow myself enough time to get ready in the morning and set aside at least 30 minutes to make it to class on time. Other than that I really like that class because Sr. Rosemary is a great teacher and because we meet in the cafeteria so we can have some breakfast while we have class. It’s pretty convenient. Today is Valentine’s Day and it’s when they announce Mr. and Mrs. Spire but I won’t be able to make it because I am going to visit some of my cousins and possibly go to dinner with my friend Colette.
The University Coffee Shop opened yesterday in the student union and I haven’t gone to try anything there yet. Some of my friends tried the food and I hear it’s good. I’ve only had the cookies that the lady gave out for people to try when they came into the student union and they were really good. Maybe I’ll stop in for some lunch when I get off work at 1:30.
I guess that’s all for now I better get some homework done because I have plenty of it. Most people who know me know that I’m really good at procrastinating so I better go.

Happy Valentine’s Day
