So I’ve decided that finals are officially not fun… I’ve had to work my butt off trying to study for these things.  Luckily I switched majors so I dropped my Calculus 2 class.  But I still have 2 more big ones to prepare for.  It’s pretty sad knowing that in a week I will be heading home away from all my friendships that I’ve made here, but I guess that means I’ll have even more fun when we get back together for my birthday.  Since I have a Summer birthday I think I’m going to come up here for my anniversary of life day.  Oh well I should probably get back to studying.  Talk to you later…

Whew… School is starting to get really busy.  Between school, soccer, theater, student government, and more school keeping up a respectable social life is hard to do, but you know, somehow I get by. Let’s see last weekend was the school play we performed the Madwoman of Chaillot.  It was a lot of fun, and I got to see my mom and dad, because they came up for opening night. Right now I’m rehearsing for another play called The Mineola Twins.  After the play on Thursday there was a 70’s party that a lot of people went to, it was so much fun.  Just seeing everyone’s costume was a riot.  Kevin and I just got reelected to be the Sophomore President and Vice President again so that’s good news.  Well I don’t have much to say other than that, and I have to go study for my finals so see you later.

This last week has been pretty fun. I went to two amazing concerts, James Blunt and Copeland/The Starting Line. I went to the James Blunt concert with Caitlin on Wednesday and it was unbelievable, the opening band was completely horrible but the second band, The Boy Least Likely To, was cool. They have a really different sound that sounded really cool. The next day I went back to Lawrence with Caitlin and saw the Starting Line concert. We caught the tail end of an amazing new band, Cartel. I have been listening to a sample CD of theirs all week. Caitlin was excited because this was the first time she had gotten to see Copeland, which is a really good band that I suggest you all listen to. Then Starting Line came on; last time I saw them they played absolutely horrible, and I was really nervous about their show. But they actually put on a really good one Thursday night, and I was very impressed. After the show we grabbed some Chipotle and headed on home, where I sure enough got pulled over. Luckily the officer was really nice and let me off with a warning. I was so happy, that was the first time I've ever been let off. Well I'm off to go waste some more time before I start to work on my homework.

Chicago.sigh. Spring break was absolutely amazing this year. I've never really ever gone on a road trip before so this was a completely awesome experience. Kevin and I drove over 2,000 miles across the Midwest and had great time. We spent the first two nights at my house in Oklahoma, and played an alumni soccer game and went up to Stillwater (Oklahoma State) and partied with some of my high school buddies. Then it was off to Kansas City to eat lunch with Caitlin. After that we went up to St. Louis and spent a few nights with Kevin's grandparents. I got to see the sights around there and went to an amazing store where I bought 3 pearl snaps for only ten bucks each, it was heaven. We hung out with Kevin's brother Tony on our last night there and met the funniest guy I have ever seen. I have so many Facebook quotes from this guy. After Saint Louis came and gone it was on to the greatest city I've ever been to. Chicago!!! I'm from a small town and I was completely floored by how big everything was. I've never been in a taxi or taken a train before so it was crazy. Whenever we were downtown I kept running into people on the sidewalk, because I was always looking up at skyscrapers. We did all sorts of things like taking a polar bear plunge into the frigid waters of Lake Michigan, and going downtown and getting a Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. I actually went clubbing, and since I'm a good old country boy it was pretty ugly. I met some amazing people and some beautiful ladies, it was definitely one of the high points of my life and I can't wait to go back.

Can you believe it? Another exhausting week….This time it’s because of the school play. Awhile ago I decided to try out for the school play, and to my surprise I actually got a pretty decent sized part. This week was the last of the rehearsals and the show week. The show was absolutely amazing. I don’t think I have ever had so much fun in my life! My mom drove up from Oklahoma to watch the play, too. So I got to hang out with her in Kansas City all day Saturday, which was a blast because I love my mommy. On Sunday I slept pretty much all day and then went to probably one of the best barbecue places I have ever been to in my life. I think it’s called Famous Dave’s, it’s by the Speedway. I only ate one meal that entire day it was so amazing. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it.

Oh man…. Tower Power week has been insanely exhausting. The first night we had the Sweet Heart Auction in the Auditorium. Kevin and I went up together and brought in $30 bucks not a bad haul for two insanely gorgeous people like us. Next was the Mr. Spire Contest which is our school contest to see who has the most school spirit. Kate and I were chosen to represent the freshmen class for the contest. There were several different contests and I won’t go into detail because I think you will be able to tell from the pictures. Then on Wednesday we had the dodge ball tournament and Kevin were in charge of that. It went really well and our freshmen team, “Sheer Dominance,” made it to the finals. There was a knockout challenge during halftime of the guy’s game on Thursday. I tried, but I didn’t quite make it to the finals. All in all, we made quite a bit of money for our local charity and we had a blast doing it. We also had some fun parties afterwards, too. It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait till next year.
