Why I chose Saint Mary:
My name is Kevin Rogers and I’m a freshman here at USM. I came here because I wanted to actually be a student instead of a number, and to play soccer, but that didn’t work because I broke my toes, so better luck next semester!!! Life here is pretty relaxed, people are really nice and they love to have fun. When I came here, I felt a little out of place because it was a major change and stuff, but I’m fine now. I’m freshmen class president, and everyone is just awesome. I recommend this school for anyone else who likes the idea of being a student instead of a number.
Hometown:
My home town is a little place in St. Louis called University City (U-city for short). The funny thing about coming from U-city is that everyone who isn’t from U-city asks you if you know Nelly.
High School:
I graduated from University City High School in 2005. Nelly went to this school, but it was way before my time . . . well, maybe a few years earlier, but not much. It was like an average high school, but I always had so much fun doing the craziest things.
Possible Major:
Right now, I’m trying to decide if I want to double major in biology and political science (poli-sci) or just major in biology and then go on to med school.
Favorite Class:
I really like my Learning Community, which is called Brave New World. It’s a class about globalization and how it is affecting the world around us. I also really enjoy my biology class. We do a lot of group work, which is lame, but I like it.
Favorite Instructor:
Dr. Randy Scott. He is probably one of the coolest teachers you’ll ever meet because he’s real and makes class fun. The other day, for example, we were discussing what globalization was via power point, and there was a random picture of the Ohio State Buckeyes. His explanation for having the pictures was just in case anyone forgot who the champs were.
Clubs/Activities:
Student Government Association (SGA) (freshman class President!!!), Campus Activities Board (CAB)
Favorite Music:
I like all kinds of music. You name it; I probably like it.
Favorite TV Show of All Time:
Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Who would have thought that a show about a shake, an order of fries, and a piece of meat could be so funny?

My bed. Napping is awesome.
If You Could Say One Thing to Future USM Students, What would it be?
If you’re going to judge us by our numbers, it’s a bad idea. We may be small, but our parties, games, and our fans put the bigger schools to shame.
