Well, it’s been a fast freshman year, and from what I’m told from the upperclassmen, it’s going to be even faster after sophomore year! I honestly don’t think there was one thing I regret from my first year of college here, I’m sure it probably would have been much different if I were one of those reserved types, but since I’m not I had a blast. One thing I do miss though is sleep. I mean, I just never got any here there was always something to do, and if there wasn’t, we made something to do. Well, I don’t know what I’m going to do for the summer though because its going to be hard trying to make something to do when no one is here. I’ll be staying here and working so I’m sure I’ll make lots of new friends and I’ll be busy. I’m not going to say that no one is going to be here, but not that many people do. People leave right after their finals, and it’s cool to do that, but I’m really not in that big of a hurry to leave so quickly. . .I like it here. Well, thanks for reading my pieces even though sometimes I’m sure you readers were like “what is this guy thinking” when I write, but you were good sports. Hope to see any readers next year. . .we’ll have a blast!

Well, its that time of the year...Finals are here! Most people panic and get scared (mainly because they wait until the last minute to study like me), but its all worth it after you’ve finished that last one. People are pulling all night study sessions and trying their hardest to pretend to learn, but they also realize it’s the end of the year and school’s pretty much done. I don’t think that the professors really take the fact that assigning last minute work sucks. I mean you have to do that work and still find time to study for their final, what’s up with that!?! Well, as you can probably tell I am just a little bitter and cranky from studying not sleeping enough, but it’ll all be worth it when that last final is done. That’s all for now, enjoy!

This week everyone on campus has recognized that we are just one month away from the last day of school. That doesn't mean that we still don't have work to do, like it would mean in like high school or middle school, but it does mean that all the juniors are getting ready for "prophesies." While the date of this is unknown at this point, a brief synopsis of this event is that the juniors make jokes of where the graduating seniors will be in the coming years. This is also a time where the seniors will things down to the underclassmen. Another event going on this week is the Spring Formal. From what I've heard, it's like prom only in college. I think it's a good way for those people who are still having a hard time making the transition from high school to college. At any rate, it should be a fun event. The theme this year is "A Red Carpet Event" and as the title suggests it has to do with the movies, or Hollywood. It's this Friday, and the tickets are only $10!!! That's right up many college students' alleys because money never comes easy, unless you rob a bank or you're rich or something. And yet another event this week is the Room lottery. This gives everyone the chance to pick their room for next year along with suite mates. At this point that's all I have to really talk about. Enjoy until next time!

This week school was all that happened. Last week, we began dissecting things and it was interesting. The first thing we dissected was an earthworm and then a grass hopper. We’ll finish with the dissection section this week, and I think for the most part I’ll be happy because they stink . . . horribly. A few people who are considering this school came up here and I hung out with them for a while, and they were asking questions like what we did for fun, and class sizes, and typical tourist questions. To answer some of those questions, I simply told them if they wanted to know so badly, then they should come here and see for themselves. It’s kind of underhanded and sneaky in a way, but I feel that if they have so many questions the only real way is to come here and see how they like it. Well that’s all for now, enjoy until next time!

First off, I would like to apologize for being so late with my new blog entry: things got a little crazy these past two weeks and I really didn’t have much time to make one. Now that that’s out of the way, I can tell you readers out there what happened on Spring break and after that. For spring break, a friend and I decided to take a road trip around the Midwest area. The first place we decided to go was to Oklahoma. Yeah, I was thinking the same exact thing you are: why Oklahoma? Good question. The answer is because I’ve never been there, and we had an entire week to do whatever we wanted, so we did that. The second place we went to was St.Louis!!! I was excited to go back home and my family and friends were pretty excited to see me . . . not that I’m vain or anything, but when I came home they were all like “We’re so excited to see you!” We really didn’t do much there, but hang out around the house and go shopping. The last place we went to was Chicago. It was crazy . . . seriously. We were going to stay with my friend Lauren. The first night we jumped into Lake Michigan . . . It was awesome! It was cold, but well worth it. The next few days we just went sight seeing and ate at a bunch of places. Well that’s all for now, until next time enjoy!

This week was a pretty busy week here at USM, especially for the students who acted in the school play. They play was called “Honestly” and strangely enough it dealt with everyday issues like break ups, our obscured views on beauty, and like that. It was completely student directed and organized, so it wasn’t like a play that would make you want to sleep while watching it. The situations in the play were written in a way that a person who is “mature” enough to handle some of the themes and language could learn a lesson, as well as enjoy the show for what it was. In other news this past week, my home town St. Louis (for those who forgot) was the place to be for Mardi Gras this year. Louisiana still had its celebration, and I’m pretty sorry for what happened to the victims of Katrina, but with the extensive damage done by the hurricane we were ranked # 1 in the world for the Mardi Gras celebration!!!! The school week was really hard this week and I imagine that in the weeks to come it will get harder. With spring break right around the corner, all the profs are piling on work and test. In the end, it will all be worth it. What are my plans you ask? I’m going on a road trip to Oklahoma where I’ll be staying with a friend, and then on to Chicago. I’m pretty excited because it’s my first spring break away from home and with friends outside of my home. That’s all for now, enjoy—until next time!!!

This past week, everyone in student government has been getting ready for Tower Power, which is this really big fundraiser. My friend Danny and I are in charge of the dodge ball tournament. For the most part, it’s done, but we still need to buy a few things. . .like the dodge balls. There was a basketball game last week, but we lost so it was a drag. There’s another one on Thursday, the last home game of the season so I’m really excited. A few of the guys and I are going to get painted up, so we can have an excuse to go crazy. Class for the most part was pretty relaxed. We were assigned a few papers, but nothing I couldn’t have handled. I have a test on Monday, but I’m ready for it . . . I hope. . . That’s about all that happened this week, other than crazy college shenanigans, which are fun things done around the dorm, like movies, dancing for no reason. Enjoy until next time!!!
