Hey Everyone! Well, the end of the semester is finally here! It is such a bittersweet event in that you get to go home, but you're also leaving a home at the same time! It has been a crazy couple of days between getting projects done and studying for exams and packing up all my stuff. It's amazing how much junk you can accumulate over the year! I have one final exam left, which is Sociology, at 8 in the morning. I don't mind that it is so early because I like getting up and going for the day. After that we load our car and make the looooong trip home to Montana. We plan on going through South Dakota...........

I want to stop and see the Corn Palace and Mount Rushmore, but we'll see how nice Geoff (my big brother) is being! As exciting as it is to go home, I am also very sad that I am leaving others behind for three months. I don't know how I'm going to get used to not having my closest friends with me every day. I'm definetely going to miss Evan, Danny, Jarek, Kim, Jess, Jimmy, Shardae, Victoria, Mike, Heather, Becky, Cole, Ryan S. and of course Jay. All these people mean a lot to me, and it is going to be a long summer without them. On the positive side, I know I'll be seeing most of them next semester! Jay is planning on coming to Montana in late June, so that will break up the summer for us a little bit. It will be a long summer, but it will make it that much better to see him when I do! Well guys, I had better get to studying for Sociology! Until next time..............

Hey Guys!  Well, one more week and the semester is over!  It has gone by so fast!  I spent this weekend with my big brother Dusty.  He drove over from Montana with his friend Teresa for the weekend.  Dusty is finishing up his senior year at Montana Tech, and will be graduating on May 13th!  He decided to take a quick vacation before graduation........we had a lot of fun with him here.  As for finals, I have one every day of the week.  My learning community final is on Monday, pop culture/history and my English final are on Tuesday, psychology is on Wednesday, and sociology on Thursday.  I've been studying a little bit already for my sociology final because there are about a hundred or so words we need to have memorized for the test.  Other than finals, I've just been trying to pack up all my stuff for home because Geoff (my other brother) and I are taking off right after my final on Thursday.  Well, I'm off to go study some more for tomorrow!  Until next time...........

Hey guys!  Another couple weeks has gone by and only three weeks left in the semester!  It is going by too fast and I am definitely starting to feel the pressure of finals.  I have papers and projects due right and left...........and I STILL have to study for the finals!  Oh well, that is college for you!  This last weekend was a lot of fun for me.  On Thursday night, I went to the fine arts-theatre production, "The Madwoman of Chaillot" which was very good.  I was very impressed by the cast, Jubilee Paige especially, who played the Madwoman.  On Friday night Jay, Evan, Jimmy and I went to the Royals game.  The played the Indians and it was a good game!  The Royals had 12 hits, so every fan got a dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts.  It was my first major league game, so I was pretty excited.  The guys kept making fun of me, saying I was acting like my Mom!  Nothing against my Mom, she is the best, she just loves pictures and events like that.  I have never really had much of an interest in the Royals, but for some reason, I wanted a t-shirt.  I was taking pictures right and left..........I was just so excited to be there!  At the end, there was an awesome fireworks display that was just amazing.  On Saturday night, we went to Village West to watch the Counting Crows concert.  Jay and I love the Counting Crows, so we were pretty excited.  It was a beautiful  night and it wasn't too crowded, so we could see the stage really well.  At the end of the concert there was another fireworks display.  It was so cool because the fireworks correlated with the music.  I felt pretty lucky, being able to see two firework shows in one weekend.  Other than that, I haven't been up to much!  I'm just going to be studying until finals are all over on May 11th!  Until next time..............

An Irish Blessing:  "May the luck of the Irish possess you.  May the devil fly off with your worries.  May God bless you forever and ever."

Oh by the way.........Coach Basler (the women's basketball coach) is a pretty cool dude!

Hey guys! Wow, another couple weeks have gone by and it is getting closer and closer to the end of the semester! First of all, St. Paddy's Day was so great. Not quite as good as Butte, MT, but it was sufficient. We dyed our pop and coffee green all day and night, giving me a green tongue and teeth! I woke up in the morning and I started singing Irish tunes to my roommate! It was an Irish day and it was amazing! The semester is beginning to wind down, causing a little bit of stress on me. I'm beginning to have more tests, papers and projects due......it has been a little crazy! I keep thinking that I should start some papers, but being the procrastinating student I am, I don't. My birthday is coming up this next Tuesday on April, 11th and I have a big sociology test, so I have a feeling I'm going to be doing strictly sociology this weekend. On top of that I have two big papers and two big projects to do! For as little of time left in the semester, I have a lot to do! After it is all said and done, my brother Geoff and I have to drive straight home to Montana for our older brother's college graduation. I am so proud of him; he has worked very hard and has truly motivated me to get through my college education! I am very excited to see my family again, considering we haven't seen them since Christmas. Well guys, I'm off to start (maybe, haha) typing some of these papers! Until next time........

Hey guys! Well, spring break was here and gone so fast! Since I'm from Montana, it was a little expensive to fly home, so I stayed here in Leavenworth. My friend Kim lives right down the street from campus, so I just stayed with her during the week. I realized fast that the cafeteria was closed and there was no food! I called my Mom and Dad begging them to send me some money so I could eat! Of course, being the wonderful and generous parents they are, they sent me more than enough to get through.

Since it is baseball season, the team had practice and games during the break, so many of the players stayed here too. I have a lot of friends who play, so it was nice to have their company during the week. They had a couple games and a tournament, winning four and losing two games. I love to watch baseball, so I was excited to learn that they had four home games throughout the week. My boyfriend Jay and I experienced two new restaurants in Leavenworth during break. The first, Habanero's Mexican Restaurant, was amazing! I think it's my favorite so far. We went there with Jay's parents, who came down for one of his baseball games this week. The second restaurant we tried was Village Square. This was really good too. My great aunt was a Sister of Charity here at Saint Mary's and she always said that the Village Square was one of the sisters' favorite places to go and eat. I love to try new food, so it was a successful break!

Well, I guess that's all for now..........sorry I didn't have anything more exciting to talk about! Until next time....

Hey guys! Well, it's already time for my second entry. This week is going to be pretty smooth! On Monday night, Campus Activities Board put on a bowling night for the Saint Mary students, which was a ton of fun! My boyfriend, Jay and I made a bet that whoever won had to buy dinner sometime this week. Well, I lost, but in all fairness, he was throwing the ball as hard as he could down the lane! He only beat me by 12 pins, even though he gave me a few charity points! Anyways, I have to buy dinner this week. I told him he had to pick somewhere that we had never eaten before. Being from Montana, we don't have a lot of the restaurants that the Missouri/Kansas area does. For example, and when I tell people this, their jaws drop, we don't have a Sonic where I'm from! Crazy, I know. So, that's on my list of places we have to eat. Jay picked a Mexican restaurant called Tampico’s here in Leavenworth. It was really unique and very tasty! I love Mexican food, so it doesn't matter what or where it is, I'll probably eat it! Another thing that we don't have in Montana is frozen custard. My older brother, Geoff, who also goes to school here, works at Sheridan's Frozen Custard. We go there when he works and buy concretes and milkshakes, my favorite being a coffee/cookie dough concrete mmmmmmm-hmmmmmmmm, it's great! Geoff and I are real good friends, everyone thinks that we are twins! He's two years older than I am, but he's just a little guy! Well guys, I guess that's all for today! Until next time............

Hey guys! This is my first journal entry and what a week to start! This week at St. Mary's is what we call Tower Power Week. It's sort of like a spirit week at other universities. It's a week long of festivities and fundraisers the students put on. Some of the events are a dodge ball tournament, Sweetheart Auction, Student/Faculty basketball game and many more. On Monday we had the dodge ball tournament, with my team making it to the championship! It's just too bad that I was the last one in and I totally blew it for my team! It's a good thing my friends like me for my personality and not my athletic ability otherwise I don't know where I would be! My favorite happening was the Student/Faculty basketball game. I love to play basketball, and it was very interesting and fun to see our professors running around with shorts and headbands on! The "Sweetheart Auction" was an event where the students were auctioned off and the earnings went to a fundraiser for disabled children. I was auctioned off for $50, not too bad! I was setting my expectations low, only hoping to get $10, so I was pretty excited about $50! It was a successful week overall, with our school raising lots of money for donation.

So far this semester my classes are going really well. I actually enjoy all of them! Some are tedious, but at least they are interesting! As long as they are exciting and intriguing, I'm not complaining! In this entry, I've included a couple pictures of me and my roommate. Her name is Jessica Perdue and she's from Atchison, KS. We hit if off right away, with everyone thinking that we had previously known each other. She is so much fun, we love to just hang out and talk, especially with our friend down the hall, Shardae. Well, I guess that's all for this week! Just a little side note for the readers: I'm an Irish girl and am counting down the days until the most exciting holiday in the year, St. Paddy's Day. So, I decided I'm going to close all my entries with an Irish saying, prayer, translation, you know, something Irish! Until next time..........

An Irish Blessing: "May good luck be always your friend through life in all that you do, and may trouble be always a stranger to you."
