College students face a variety of challenges that affect both academic success and their enjoyment of their college years.
The USM Counseling Center provides:
- Confidential individual and group counseling related to personal issues
- Crisis intervention
- Help with text anxiety
- Referral to off-campus providers when needed
- Consultation with faculty, staff, parents, or friends who are concerned about a student
- Education and training with residence hall staff and other campus groups
- Outreach and prevention activities related to student mental health.
Services are available at no additional charge to any currently enrolled student. Appointments are recommended and students are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Any personal concern is appropriate to bring to counseling.
