Saint Mary is rooted in the Catholic tradition, and at the same time is welcoming to people of all faiths.
Campus Ministry provides many spiritual opportunities: daily mass, Bible discussion, ecumenical prayer, and reflection on justice and moral issues. Students find the beautiful campus and the chapels places of quiet and peace in the midst of life’s pace.
Service opportunities are integrated into many classes to enhance learning. Other service experiences are available over school breaks, such as trips to New Orleans, Appalachia, Denver, and more.
Spirituality is part of daily life at USM. Though not formally realized, spiritual moments happen when talking with friends about the great questions of life – in the dorm late at night, on the bus to a basketball game, in the cafeteria, or just hanging around campus ministry between classes.
The opportunities for building leadership skills are endless, and retreat experiences are provided both on and off the USM campus.
“I have an office on campus and am easily available if students would like to talk.” —Father Bill McEvoy, University Chaplain, Saint Mary Graduate
“Through service, our hope is that Saint Mary students are led to the unselfish lives that make a difference in our global society. We believe instilling a commitment to service will result in our graduates leading much more fulfilled lives.” —Sister Diane Steele, University President, Saint Mary Graduate

Ancilla Nominations
As most of you know, the Mother Mary Ancilla Award is given to a University of Saint Mary senior who has devoted their time to the service of others both at the University of Saint Mary and the local community.
Below is a nomination form to fill out and return to the Campus Ministry Office located at 110 Berchmans Hall or by emailing it to marsh50@stmary.edu.
I would encourage all faculty, staff, and students to nominate the senior student who best exemplifies a commitment to service.
