John Windham joined the University of Saint Mary full time in 2025 after three years as an adjunct professor in the Sport Management program.
His previous experience has been as head men’s basketball coach, assistant director of athletics and sport management coordinator and professor at Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.
Windham received his master’s degree in recreation administration from the University of Northern Colorado and his bachelor’s degree in business education from Western Illinois University.
Windham has many years in coaching with basketball being his emphasis. Besides coaching on the college level, he has coached on the professional level in Sweden for two years along with many years on the high school level in which he was named Utah Coach of the Year twice and Coach of the Year in Virginia. In his first year in Sweden, Windham led his club to a league championship, which was their first in 10 years.
Windham resides in Olathe, Kansas, with his wife, Debbie. They have 19 grandchildren.
