(Leavenworth, Kan.) – The University of Saint Mary has launched a Master of Science in Nursing–Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.
The online, asynchronous program will begin classes in fall 2024, and applications are now open. With 53 credit hours, students can finish the program in as little as two years. Saint Mary will also offer a PMHNP post-graduate certificate.
In this growing specialty, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of psychiatric nursing practice, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of individuals with mental health disorders across the lifespan.
“The University of Saint Mary is thrilled to introduce this innovative program, which is designed to equip nurses with advanced skills to address the complex mental health needs of our communities,” said Michelle Krakar, assistant professor & post licensure and graduate program director. “Through rigorous curriculum and hands-on clinical experiences, we aim to empower nurses to make profound impacts in the lives of individuals struggling with their mental health.”
The USM nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.
