(Leavenworth, Kansas) – All 2025 University of Saint Mary Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates have passed the professional licensure exam on their first attempt.

The national average on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) was 87.3 percent through the third quarter of 2025, giving Saint Mary a distinct standing among top nursing programs in the country.

The NCLEX is a standardized test used by state regulatory boards to determine if candidates are ready to become licensed as entry-level nurses.

“The University of Saint Mary is incredibly proud of the achievements of our nursing graduates,” said Dr. Karen Kidder, nursing division chair and associate professor of nursing. “USM’s pass rate reinforces that our experienced faculty, evidence-based education, and hands-on experiences provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful at Saint Mary and beyond.”

USM offers several Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)-accredited programs, including a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with traditional and accelerated tracks, and Master of Science in Nursing with nurse administrator, nurse educator, family nurse practitioner (FNP), and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) tracks.  The post-masters FNP and PMHNP certifications are currently in the accreditation process with CCNE.
