USM has been recognized as an Opportunity University by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. This designation recognizes institutions of higher ed that provide greater educational opportunities and access and strong post-graduate earnings for their alumni. The 478 schools to receive this designation "can serve as a model for studying how campuses can foster student success," according to Carnegie.

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Student at KCU

As a junior, Erin was accepted into the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program at Kansas City University. By participating in USM’s 3+4 Biomedical Sciences program, she is on the fast-track to becoming a physician.
